Huawei Pura X Max Expands Foldable Design with Larger Displays and Stylus Support
Huawei has introduced a bigger take on its wide foldable concept, unveiling the Pura X Max with expanded screens, a slimmer profile, and added stylus compatibility.
The device builds on the earlier Pura X, pushing dimensions further while refining the folding structure. When closed, the phone measures 120mm in height and 85mm in width, noticeably larger than its predecessor, yet it is thinner at 11.2mm.
Bigger Displays with Refined Aspect Ratio
The Pura X Max carries a 5.4-inch outer screen and unfolds into a 7.7-inch internal display. Both panels adopt a nearly square format, shifting away from the media-oriented ratio seen previously.
The inner display resolution stands at 2,584 x 1,828 pixels, resulting in a 14.1:10 ratio, while the outer screen mirrors this proportion closely at 1,848 x 1,264 pixels. Both panels support adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and feature high-frequency PWM dimming at 1,440Hz.
Stylus Integration and Accessories
Huawei equips the device with stylus support through the M-Pen 3 Mini, designed to match the compact height of the foldable form. The stylus pairs with a dedicated case, while an alternative case includes a magnetic stand for hands-free use.
Battery and Performance Upgrades
The larger chassis accommodates a 5,300mAh battery, an increase from the earlier model. Charging capabilities include 66W wired and 50W wireless options.
Under the hood, the phone runs on the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, which delivers a reported 30 percent performance improvement over the previous generation. Thermal management combines a vapor chamber with a graphene layer to maintain stability.
The device ships with HarmonyOS 6.1, continuing Huawei’s shift away from Android.
