The network decided to cease production at the end of the 2025/26 Premier League season, citing shifting audience behaviors toward digital platforms and on-demand viewing.
Emotional Final Episode
Current host Alex Scott struggled to hold back tears during the opening broadcast package. She welcomed former pundit Garth Crooks back to the studio for the final show.
"Here we go for the last time, hello and welcome to Football Focus, we are bringing the curtain down today on the longest running football magazine show," Scott said.
Former presenter Dan Walker contributed a recorded message reflecting on the show's history. He highlighted the 2010s episode produced from Camp Bastion in Afghanistan as his personal favorite.
"The one show that really stands out for me was our programme that we made in Afghanistan," Walker said.
