Kitchener had a two-day break before Monday's game and aimed to secure at least a semifinal berth.
"We're excited but [head coach] Jussi Ahokas talks about it a lot but we take it one day at a time and our focus tonight is Everett," said Kitchener forward Christian Humphreys, a Colorado Avalanche prospect.
Humphreys praised the team's performance after their opening win: "I thought all around we were good. We got good goaltending, [Kirsch] was really good.
We played heavy, we played fast and we'll do the same tonight."
A win for Kitchener on Tuesday against Chicoutimi would guarantee first place in the round-robin and an automatic berth in the Memorial Cup Final on Sunday, May 31.

The round-robin concludes Wednesday when the host Kelowna Rockets face the Everett Silvertips.
