Matthews noted that the squad maintained a positive collective mindset ahead of the ultimate group stage encounter.

"So we're in a really, really good place as a group," she added.

The captain acknowledged that the top order had room for improvement after she and Deandra Dottin failed to score heavy runs in earlier matches.

"I think we're still not quite firing with the bat," Matthews said.

Matthews pointed out that senior players needed to find their form to support recent contributors like Chinelle Henry, who scored 51 runs against England.

"I still haven't got runs, Deandra (Dottin) still hasn't got her runs," she said.

Despite individual batting slumps, the leadership expressed complete faith in the overall depth of the squad. "Chinelle (Henry) looked really good today, which is a positive.

But I certainly feel like we're in a very, very strong place right now," Matthews said.

The team received instructions to remain fearless and stick to their aggressive brand of cricket during the knockout qualification match.

"I guess the message to the team is just going to be to keep believing, keep playing some really good cricket," Matthews said.

Matthews asserted that executing their plans efficiently would yield a positive result against the Irish team.

"I think, against a team like Ireland, if we are at our best or near to our best, we should be coming out on the right side of the result," she said.
