"It'll be exciting for me to show that off, where my background was and just the football culture we have here," said Christensen.

The match also features former Okanagan Sun teammates Jacob Bond, now a fullback for BC, and Kelon Thomas, a defensive lineman for Calgary.

Christensen evaluated Bond's transition into the professional ranks as a versatile player. "He's just a good athlete," said Christensen.

He expected the young athlete to find a consistent role through specific phases of play.

"He'll get a lot of playing time on special teams, as a blocker (on returns) and a tackler on the cover teams.

He'll be a stalwart there," said Christensen.

When asked if the fullback would receive offensive touches, Christensen emphasized that securing a victory remains the primary goal for the coaching staff.

"Getting a win is going to be paramount," said Christensen.

He acknowledged that secondary scenarios might allow for crowd-pleasing moments if the game score becomes lopsided.

"I would think that the coach, probably in the back of his mind, is like 'if we get way up, it would be fun to hand him the ball a couple times and listen to the crowd.'

But that would be down his list of priorities, I'm sure," said Christensen.

Christensen commended the player's personal character and potential impact beyond the field.

"There's not a nicer young man out there.

He's going to be that type of guy who is great in the community, he'll inspire kids in high schools and be a good role model, and just get people excited about the football team again," said Christensen.
