“A few operators do not get to treat neighbours like garbage and damage the reputation of an event that belongs to all of us,” said Mayor Jeromy Farkas.

He later clarified that the recent council vote rejecting a formal extension to 1 a. m.

served as the city's official response to the province's deadline.

“WE DID IT!” said Mayor Jeromy Farkas.

Farkas expressed confidence that the resolution allows local businesses and international visitors to experience a successful festival season.

“Support our local businesses, enjoy the music, welcome visitors from around the world, and show everyone why Calgary is the greatest festival city on Earth!”

said Mayor Jeromy Farkas.

Premier Danielle Smith expressed support for the compromise on her weekly radio show, noting that the agreement ensures a high-quality experience for hundreds of thousands of attendees while reducing local disruptions.

“The tent operators didn't get everything that they wanted, but I think that's why you get together, so that you can make sure that you're going to provide the best experience for the hundreds of thousands of people who are going to be going to those tents over the course of the 10 days, but also make sure that you're minimizing any of the spillover effects,” said Premier Danielle Smith.

As part of the resolution, the Alberta Sheriffs signed a first-of-its-kind memorandum of understanding with the Calgary Police Service to increase provincial law enforcement presence at the festival and better monitor local complaints.
