His appointment follows a successful stint at Leicester City and a subsequent tenure at Chelsea, where he secured continental and global silverware before leaving Stamford Bridge on New Year's Day.

Maresca inherits a Manchester City squad that missed out on the domestic league title for two consecutive seasons and recently underwent player departures, though a major reinforcement is pending confirmation.

"Manchester City is a club I know very well and to have the chance to manage this team is a brilliant opportunity for me," said Maresca.

He expressed deep appreciation for the organizational structure and innovative environment at the club, noting that it provides the necessary stability for his coaching methods.

"City is an incredibly well-run football Club. Everything they do is innovative, planned and purposeful.

For a manager, that is a dream situation. It provides the consistency I need to do my job effectively," said Maresca.

Acknowledging the immense pressure and high standards associated with the role, the incoming manager conveyed his eagerness to begin working with the squad immediately.

"This will be my third spell here. I know this club, I know the demands and I know the expectations.
