Prince William, Prince of Wales, launched the Queen Elizabeth Digital Memorial on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, through a video shared from Windsor Castle.

The online repository honors the late monarch's enduring legacy.

The website preserves archival materials, including historical engagements such as her 1957 opening of the Canadian Parliament and her 2014 visit to the Game of Thrones set.

It also integrates recollections from the public and contributions from notable figures like Tom Daley, Dame Tracey Emin, and Baroness Amos.

In the video, Prince William reflected on personal memories of his grandmother.

"Whilst I had the privilege to know the late Queen better than most, some of my fondest memories of my grandmother are from here in Windsor," he said.

He recalled the daily afternoon ritual where the late monarch took tea around 5 p. m.

, accompanied by scones, small cakes, and Earl Grey tea.

"I remember many a quiet afternoon having tea with her and my grandfather at the castle, chatting, sharing stories, and seeing how completely at ease she was here," he added.

The Prince also highlighted the Queen's lifelong passion for equestrian activities, including riding her pony, Emma, during her final years.

"Watching her ride her horses in the Great Park, even well into her later years, showed a side of granny the world didn't often see: off duty, relaxed and utterly at home," he said.
