King-Crews previously underwent an FDA-approved surgical procedure to address mobility issues and tremors on her right side, allowing her to regain use of her right hand.

"I don't believe in telling my story just so you can know my story and feel sorry for me," she said.

"I really believe that this procedure and others like it are the new frontier of medicine," said King-Crews.

The couple, married in 1989 after meeting at Western Michigan University, have five children. King-Crews also successfully battled breast cancer in 2020.
