The athlete admitted she faced internal challenges before overcoming them by setting strict daily mileage targets.

"It's a crazy feeling to have this moment when I didn't even expect fully to break the women's record.

… I'm so grateful for this moment. This is huge for me for a lot of reasons," Pfendler said.

Pfendler also noted that her background influenced her perspective on overcoming discomfort during the journey.

"Something I really love about sports and why I find them beautiful is they're like a metaphor for life," she said.

She emphasized that enduring hardship eventually builds resilience.

"You'll suffer, but the more that you don't shy away from stress and feeling uncomfortable, the easier it becomes for you to manage and get through," Pfendler added.

Shore team member and veteran ocean rower Carlo Facchino praised her performance and noted the significance of her record-breaking pace.

"She absolutely crushed it," Facchino said.

He pointed out that Pfendler utilized a modern concept vessel designed by Rannoch Adventure to capture tailwinds efficiently.

"In essence, she's setting her own record while totally blowing away the previous records, which is incredible," Facchino said.

He predicted that her performance would establish a benchmark that future competitors will struggle to match.

"I bet anyone going forward will row a concept class boat, but they'll have a tough time beating Kelsey's record.

She's setting a new gold standard," Facchino said.

Celebrities also recognized Pfendler's mid-ocean progress, sending supportive messages as her online following grew.

"We're deeply inspired by your strength and courage to leave the shore in boldly charting your own course," said actress Catherine Laga'aia.

Actor Dwayne Johnson joined in cheering the rower toward her final destination.

"We can't wait to welcome you to our islands of Hawaii when you cross that line and finish," Johnson said.
