Central Maryland is bracing for a dangerous combination of extreme heat and severe storms on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

The region is under consecutive Weather Alert Days as both heat warnings and an enhanced storm risk take effect.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Central Maryland under a level three out of five enhanced risk category.

This indicates that severe storms are highly probable during the afternoon and evening hours.

According to Fox Baltimore, heat index values are expected to exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit before the extreme heat warnings expire at 9:00 p.

This marks the third consecutive day of triple-digit temperatures in the area.

Storm Hazards and Timing

Weather forecasts show that dangerous wind gusts and torrential rainfall represent the primary hazards from the incoming storms.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms could also impact local evening fireworks celebrations. Residents are advised to stay alert and take precautions.
