A West Hollywood restaurant owner has acquired the iconic interior "Late Show" sign for $102,100 at a charity auction following the unexpected cancellation of the long-running late-night program by CBS.

The 12-foot-tall television prop was purchased to ensure its preservation and public display.

The historic sign greeted studio audiences throughout host Stephen Colbert's 11 seasons at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York before the franchise concluded on May 21, 2026.

Proceeds from the auction went directly to World Central Kitchen, a disaster-relief organization founded by chef José Andrés.

Sign to be displayed inside bistro

The winning bidder, WeHo Bistro owner Jeff Douek, announced that the sign arrived safely and temporarily rests on the restaurant's roof.

According to Douek, the item will move inside after two weeks to be permanently installed on a wall where visitors can take photographs.

During a special on-air segment called "Late Show Home Shopping" alongside guest Jon Stewart in April, the host joked about the massive item hanging above him.
