Two explosive devices detonated in central Damascus on Tuesday near the Four Seasons Hotel, where French President Emmanuel Macron was reportedly staying during his official visit.
The French president's office confirmed that Macron remained safe following the blasts and that his scheduled visit to Syria would continue without interruption.

The dual explosions sent a large plume of smoke into the sky above the capital, according to reports from Syrian state media citing an unnamed security official.
Footage widely shared on social media showed a vehicle engulfed in flames and visible blood stains on the street.

Syrian authorities did not immediately comment on the explosions, and there were no immediate reports of casualties or claims of responsibility from any group.

The security incident occurred just days after another explosive device detonated inside a cafe near the Justice Palace in Damascus, killing at least 10 people and wounding 20 others.
