House Speaker Mike Johnson described democratic socialism as “a serious threat to our whole system of government” on Fox News Sunday.

Former White House adviser Matt Mowers criticized the timing of Mamdani’s speech during an interview with NewsMax. “This is what you expect out of the communists,” Mowers said.

“That’s why he chose the day before our 250th celebration of our independence, in order to launch this divisive type of speech.

He’s trying to tear people apart at a time when we should be united and celebrating.”

Conservative commentator Barbara Boyd from Promethean Action highlighted a platform from the Marxist Unity Group within the Democratic Socialists of America, which advocates for a complete separation from the Democratic Party and the abolition of both the U.

S. Senate and the Supreme Court.

“So, how do we defeat this?” Boyd said.
