Chesterfield Football Club has secured the signing of winger Josh Koroma on a season-long loan from League One side Leyton Orient, effective July 9, 2026.
The 27-year-old attacker joins the Spireites ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, looking to regain his form after a challenging season with Orient.

Koroma, who can play across the front line, is the second signing of the day for Chesterfield following the permanent acquisition of forward Ruel Sotiriou.
Before returning to Leyton Orient in summer 2025, Koroma spent six years at Huddersfield Town, scoring 33 goals in 156 appearances.
He also had loan spells at Rotherham United and Portsmouth.

Koroma said the move had been in the works for a while and that a conversation with manager Paul Cook convinced him to join.

He explained that I’d get the smile back on my face,” Koroma said, according to the club’s official website.
He described his playing style as someone who tries to unlock defenses and cause problems, adding that he will work hard and aim to be the difference in games.
Koroma also expressed optimism about the team’s promotion ambitions, noting the winning mentality in the dressing room.
Assistant manager Danny Webb highlighted Koroma’s ability and experience at Championship and League One level, stating that he bolsters the attacking output and adds quality to the squad.

The loan deal is subject to relevant football governing approvals.
