According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints on the Clutch Scoops podcast, these two players have emerged as the primary targets for the franchise's frontcourt and backcourt depth.
"Jordan Clarkson is a name that we keep hearing that he's going to be back on a minimum contract with New York.
And then the other name is some type of center, they want to add another big man," said Siegel.
Clarkson spent the previous 2025-26 season with the Knicks after signing a one-year, $3.63 million veteran minimum contract.
The 34-year-old Filipino guard averaged 8.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game as a bench asset.

Regarding the center position, Siegel noted: "It's very thin [center market], the one name that we keep hearing after they signed Andre Drummond is Nick Richards on a minimum contract.
He's a CAA client, the Knicks have a lot of ties to CAA, and it would just make sense for them to bring in Nick Richards there."
The Knicks previously secured center Andre Drummond on a one-year, $3.9 million veteran minimum contract following the departure of Mitchell Robinson to the Boston Celtics.
Despite adding Drummond, New York continues its search for an additional traditional big man.
"So those are the two main names that I'm paying attention to: Jordan Clarkson and Nick Richards for the New York Knicks," stated Siegel.
