Porsche has confirmed that production of the combustion-engine Macan will end this month, with the last unit leaving the Leipzig plant at the end of July.
The decision comes despite the gas version continuing to outsell the electric Macan.

In the first half of 2026, Porsche sold 35,315 Macan models worldwide.
Of those, 19,695 were combustion models, while the Macan Electric accounted for 15,620 units.
Overall Macan sales fell 22 percent compared to the same period last year.
The company initially expected the electric Macan to fully replace the ICE version, but strong demand for the gas model kept both on sale.
Now, the current generation of the combustion Macan reaches its end with no direct replacement for at least two years.

Successor Coming in 2028
Porsche has admitted it misread the market and has approved a new combustion and hybrid Macan built on the Audi Q5 platform.
However, the successor is not due until 2028 at the earliest. It will also wear a different name, leaving the Macan badge exclusively for the electric model.
During the gap, dealers will rely on remaining ICE stock, the Macan Electric, and other models to fill showrooms.
The timing is challenging for Porsche, as total deliveries have slipped 16 percent so far this year, from 146,391 to 122,306 units.
Sales in China have fallen 32 percent to 14,501 units, while North America saw a 13 percent drop to 37,712 units.

The Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan also experienced declines. The only bright spot is the 911, with sales up 19 percent to 30,534 units.
