Karl-Anthony Towns defended Bridges against criticism about inconsistent postseason performances.

"We know the value he brings to our team," Towns said. "It's our job as teammates to continue to uplift him."

Towns referenced Bridges' strong play in previous games: "In the moments when Mikal had to show the world and Knicks fans how great he is, he has always shown up."

The Knicks acquired Bridges to bolster a core that includes Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, former Villanova teammates.

Anunoby improved his regular-season scoring to 16.7 points and three-point shooting to 38.6% this season.

Unlike the Knicks, the Spurs roster consists mostly of players in their first postseason.
