A new rendering based on a camouflaged prototype gives a clear look at Toyota's upcoming Corolla Cross-based pickup.

The illustration shows a compact dual-cab truck with a bed, derived from the Corolla Cross crossover. The prototype was recently spotted testing on public roads in Brazil.

From the windshield forward, the vehicle is essentially a Corolla Cross, retaining the same headlights and front design.

The body appears stretched to accommodate the bed, with most of the added length in the rear overhang.

Design and Platform Details

Key design elements include boxy wheel arches, a rising beltline, roof rails tapering into small spoilers, and a large tailgate with an integrated step.

The taillights likely run the full width of the body, similar to the Crown Signia.

The pickup is expected to ride on Toyota's TNGA architecture, reinforced for bed duty.

It will compete in South America's unibody pickup segment against models like the Fiat Toro, Ram Rampage, and Chevrolet Montana.

Local reports suggest powertrain options may include a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, a 1.8-liter self-charging hybrid, and a flex-fuel plug-in hybrid with E-Four all-wheel drive.

Toyota is expected to unveil the Corolla Cross pickup in the first quarter of 2027.

Production will likely take place at the Sorocaba plant in Brazil, alongside the Corolla Cross.

The pickup is part of a R$ 11 billion ($2.2 billion) investment Toyota has committed to its Brazilian operations through 2030.

As for a US-bound version, Toyota Motor North America CEO Tetsuo Ogawa has mentioned the RAV4 as a possible basis for a Ford Maverick rival, but that project is still in consideration.
