The 2026 Mini Countryman SE ALL4 is a curious proposition: an all-electric crossover that prioritizes fun over practicality.

It’s the flagship electric version of Mini’s largest model, now in its third generation.

Under the skin, a 64.6 kWh battery powers two electric motors, producing 308 hp and 364 lb-ft of torque.

Mini claims a 0-62 mph time of 5.6 seconds, and our testing confirmed 5.3 seconds.

Range is rated at 268 miles (432 km), though real-world efficiency averaged 17.2 kWh/100 km.

The cabin is where the Countryman truly shines. A circular OLED infotainment display dominates the dashboard, with vibrant graphics that change with drive modes.

The interface is intuitive and fun, with physical toggle switches for key functions. Unique ambient lighting uses tiny projectors to cast patterns on the door panels.

Materials feel premium, with blue fabric on the dashboard and door cards. A fabric spoke on the steering wheel and vertical door handles add character.

The front seats are supportive but firm, and rear legroom is tight for taller passengers. Cargo space measures 460 liters (16.2 cubic feet).

Driving Experience and Pricing

On the road, the SE ALL4 feels eager and agile. Instant torque provides brisk acceleration, and the all-wheel-drive system offers good traction.

The suspension is firm but compliant, and the steering is direct. It’s genuinely fun to drive, especially in tight corners.

However, the small battery means range anxiety is a concern. Fast charging supports up to 130 kW, but a 10-80% charge takes about 30 minutes.

The starting price in Australia is AU$80,737 ($56,600), rising to AU$83,862 ($60,600) for the Favored trim tested.

That’s expensive for a compact electric SUV.

Overall, the Countryman SE ALL4 is a niche product. It offers a unique blend of style, technology, and driving enjoyment that few rivals can match.

But its limited range and high cost make it a hard sell for most buyers.
