Joe Iginla split the recent Western Hockey League season between the Edmonton Oil Kings and the Vancouver Giants.
He recorded 15 goals and 31 points in 59 total appearances during the campaign.
Calgary used a draft pick originally acquired from the Vancouver Canucks in the 2023 Nikita Zadorov trade to make the selection.
Iginla was ranked as the 200th North American skater by the NHL Central Scouting Service.
Due to his August 13, 2008 birthday, he is one of the youngest draft-eligible players in the 2026 class.

His season was disrupted by a mid-season injury before his trade to Vancouver, but he nearly doubled his previous year's offensive production.
The pick marks the third professional hockey draft selection from the immediate Iginla family.
His older brother, Tij, was drafted sixth overall by the Utah Mammoth in 2024.
His older sister, Jade, went 18th overall to PWHL Hamilton in the 2026 PWHL Draft.
Jarome Iginla currently works within the Calgary front office as a special advisor to general manager Craig Conroy.
