Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York unsealed a 22-page indictment in Brooklyn on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Beasley, Davis, and four other individuals face charges including wire fraud conspiracy, bribery in sporting contests, honest services wire fraud conspiracy, and money laundering conspiracy.

Scheme Details

Prosecutors allege the defendants orchestrated a scheme in late 2023 and early 2024 to influence game outcomes through bribery and defraud betting entities using non-public insider information.

Authorities said Beasley agreed to alter his on-court performances based on betting trends during his 2024 tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks.

He coordinated with Davis to either underperform or overperform so co-conspirators could place fraudulent wagers.

Attorney Joseph Nocella Jr. stated the operation involved hundreds of thousands of dollars and exploited internal league information for financial gain.

"Bribery and insider betting schemes like this one involving former NBA players and a current NBA player agent who exploited inside NBA information for profit erode the integrity of American sports and victimize the sports-watching public," Nocella said.

The prosecution detailed specific text messages between the defendants, including a message from Davis to Beasley in December 2023, weeks before a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"We can make some good money," Davis wrote.

Defense attorney Steve Haney confirmed the federal sports betting charges, noting the government is arranging for Beasley's voluntary surrender later this week.
