While Australia waits until the coin toss to finalize their playing eleven, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews indicated her squad intends to play with an aggressive, underdog approach.

"The quality of cricket that we've been playing recently ... you want that leading into a semi," Hamilton added.

The winner of the matchup between Australia and the West Indies will advance to Sunday's tournament final at Lord's, while England faces South Africa in the second semifinal on Thursday.

"I haven't played at The Oval before ...

I'm glad I came down (on match eve) just to have a look at the facilities and get used to it and see how fast the outfield is," Hamilton said.

Tournament Director Beth Barrett-Wild expressed satisfaction with the global development of the sport, noting that multiple fixtures mirrored the scale and competitive energy of historical single-day cricket events.

"The conditions can change a lot, so we just have to adapt to them as fast as we can and play our style of cricket," Hamilton noted.

Despite the commercial success driven by broadcasting schedules, developmental challenges remain for smaller nations like Scotland, who competed without a sponsor, and the Netherlands, whose squad consists entirely of amateur players.

"I think (West Indies) have nothing to lose in the semi, so they'll come out hard and they're a great opposition," Hamilton concluded.
