The deal was reported by Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic and TSN.

Markstrom Returns to Florida

Markstrom, 36, returns to the franchise that selected him 31st overall in the 2008 NHL Draft.

He spent four seasons with the Panthers before moving to Vancouver in 2014.

The Swedish goaltender later became a Vezina Trophy finalist with Calgary in 2022.

He enters the first season of a two-year contract extension with a $6 million annual cap hit.

Markstrom holds a career regular-season record of 264-231-54 across 578 games.

The trade signals that the Panthers are moving on from 37-year-old goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who is finishing a seven-year contract after leading Florida to Stanley Cup championships in 2024 and 2025.

Rodrigues, Boqvist Head to New Jersey

Rodrigues, 32, recorded 31 points in 69 regular-season games last year while battling a finger injury.

He has one year remaining on a four-year contract with a $3.075 million average annual value.

The center contributed 15 postseason points to each of Florida's consecutive Stanley Cup championship runs.

Boqvist returns to New Jersey, where he played from 2019 to 2023.

He recorded four goals and 13 points in 73 appearances for the Panthers last season under a contract that expires after the 2026-27 season.

Crookshank, 26, carries an $850,000 cap hit. Steeves is a restricted free agent who spent last year with Florida's minor-league affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
