Charlie Bingham, a 51-year-old UK native residing in Texas, described the attendance as a joint 50th birthday gift with his wife.
"My wife and I made it our 50th birthday present to one another," he said.
Bingham noted that their children had recently developed an interest in Formula 1, making the historic venue an ideal destination.

"The kids have got into it in the last couple of years, this is the home of Grand Prix, so why not?"
Returning spectators Stuart, 52, and his 21-year-old son Ross purchased tickets in the Hangar grandstand after attending the 2025 edition.
"It's just the whole scale of the event," said Stuart, adding that the weekend offered entertainment beyond racing.
"It's bigger than just a race. There's something for everyone."
The entertainment lineup included musical acts David Guetta and Richard Ashcroft, along with a stand-up comedy performance by Jack Whitehall.
Ross, a McLaren enthusiast, anticipated an Antonelli victory but voiced his desire for a strong performance from local drivers.
"I think the Mercedes look like they're going to do it," said Ross. "It would be nice to see Hamilton up there if possible.
Lando [Norris] as well. An all-British podium ideally."
The 77th edition of the Grand Prix also drew first-time attendees, including 70-year-old Liz Williams, who attended because of her grandchildren's interest.
"It was really exciting when they were all overtaking one another on the corner where we were," she said.
Williams praised the friendly atmosphere: "[There are] lots of people cheering different drivers, but it's all very friendly.
Nobody's fighting or pushing people over like you get in some sports."
Accommodation saw tens of thousands of fans camping on-site, with some arriving as early as Wednesday.
Colin Lawson, 59, traveled from Aberdeen to camp at Whittlebury Park in his RV with friends and family.
"It's my happy place," said Lawson. He highlighted the community aspect of the British event as a major draw.

"I love it because it's British. It's a gathering."
