RUF has introduced a new 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder boxer engine, the B8, which produces over 1,000 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque without any hybrid assistance.
The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, also built in-house by the German brand.

Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
The B8 makes its public debut this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, installed in a modified CTR3 prototype.
The car features a reworked Porsche 911 front structure and a bespoke Multimatic tubular steel rear chassis.
Race driver and former Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust will pilot the prototype up the hill throughout the weekend.
Porsche famously used flat-eight engines in race cars but never offered one in a production road car.

RUF's boxer-eight has no direct rival on the road, according to the company.
The prototype has been stretched by 3.93 inches (100 mm) over a standard CTR3 to accommodate the new engine.
Visually, it features a custom black-and-yellow livery inspired by the legendary CTR Yellowbird.
Company founder Alois Ruf said: "There are moments in a company's history that define the future. For RUF, the Boxer 8 is one of those moments."
