Ramsay-Peaty explained that adopting the double-barreled surname "Ramsay-Peaty" reflects his evolution as a man and new responsibilities.
After his bronze finishes, he described the experience as "the hardest climb I've ever faced and the hardest test," citing early training starts, missed family moments, and social media abuse.
Dame Laura Kenny, a retired six-time Olympic cycling medalist, praised Ramsay-Peaty's emotional strength.
"The emotion that he showed in those interviews post-bronze just shows how much the Commonwealth Games means to these athletes," she said.
Kenny also defended his immediate post-race interviews, explaining that emotions run high and negative reactions should be understood in context.

Looking ahead, Ramsay-Peaty aims to focus on the 50m breaststroke, an event debuting at the Los Angeles Olympics, which may suit his sprinting strengths as he approaches age 33.
