Safety features include 10 airbags and a comprehensive ADAS suite with navigation-based Smart Cruise Control 2, Memory Reversing Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Pedal Misuse Safety Assist.

Gasoline and Hybrid Powertrains

The Korean-spec Avante launches with two powertrains.

The first is an improved 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 147 hp (110 kW), a 26 hp increase over the outgoing model.

The second is a self-charging hybrid combining a 1.6-liter engine with a stronger electric motor and a larger battery for a combined 155 hp (116 kW).

The hybrid features Smart Regenerative Braking 3.0 and a Hybrid Hierarchical Predictive Control System to improve fuel efficiency.

A "Stay Mode" keeps climate control and infotainment running when the vehicle is stationary.

A new Elantra N with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine is rumored but not confirmed.

The new Avante is expected to reach Korean dealers later this year, followed by a gradual rollout to other markets.
