The BMW iX4, a coupe version of the iX3, has been caught on camera during testing at the Nurburgring.
The prototype shows a more aerodynamic shape compared to its boxy sibling.

BMW's Debrecen plant in Hungary will handle production of the iX4. The vehicle is expected to hit most markets next year.
Design and Interior
Up front, the iX4 closely resembles the iX3, featuring the Neue Klasse headlights and kidney grilles.
The main differences are above and behind, where the roofline drops significantly and slopes into a steeply raked rear window.
A small lip spoiler at the tail provides a minor aerodynamic gain. The prototype rides on new five-spoke 22-inch wheels.
Inside, the iX4 will mirror the iX3's cabin with only minor changes.
It will feature BMW's Panoramic iDrive display, including a 17.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a thin driver information display spanning the full width of the windscreen.

Powertrains and Charging
The iX4 will use the same 800V electrical architecture as the iX3, supporting charging rates up to 400kW.
This allows for significantly shorter charging times on compatible high-power chargers.
Several versions will be offered, likely starting with the 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive.
The 50 xDrive is expected to use a 108.7 kWh battery pack and two electric motors producing 463 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-62 mph time of 4.9 seconds.
A hotter quad-motor iX4 M is also expected to join the lineup later, with more power and chassis upgrades.
Launch Timeline
BMW is expected to unveil the iX4 this fall, with production starting before the end of the year.
